Sustainable Material Certifications: GRS, GOTS, OEKO-TEX

Sustainable Material Certifications and Standards We Work With
Certification is how lower-impact claims become verifiable. Susmaterials works with recognised certification systems and third-party testing across our leather alternatives and eco textiles, from recycled and organic fibres to emerging bio-based leather alternatives. We do not publish certificates on this site; relevant documentation is available on request to qualified buyers as part of the sourcing process, matched to the specific material and order. If you are comparing schemes, our certifications FAQ outlines how each standard applies to a material spec.
GRS (Global Recycled Standard)
GRS verifies recycled content in a product and tracks it through the supply chain, while also covering social and environmental criteria in processing. It is most relevant to our Recycled Polyester (rPET) textiles and other recycled-content materials. GRS documentation is available on request.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)
GOTS covers organic fibre content together with environmental and social requirements across spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing. It applies to our Organic Cotton range and organic-content blends. GOTS documentation is available on request.
OEKO-TEX Standard 100
OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tests finished textiles for substances of concern, supporting safer end products across consumer categories. It is relevant across our eco textiles and many of our leather alternatives. OEKO-TEX documentation is available on request.
SGS Third-Party Testing
SGS is an independent testing body whose reports cover physical and chemical performance — abrasion, colourfastness, composition and more. We use third-party testing to back up performance characteristics across the range. Full test data is available on request.
EU REACH
REACH is the European Union framework regulating chemical substances in products placed on the EU market. Materials we supply for EU-bound production are assessed against REACH requirements, and compliance documentation is available on request.
How to Request Certification Documentation
Tell us which material you are evaluating and which market you sell into, and we will share the relevant certificates and test reports for that material. Contact the susmaterials team to request certification documentation, swatches or our Selection Guide by email.
